myFamCart

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

myFamCart is a shared grocery list for families, made by Jafdev. This policy explains what the app stores, why, who can see it and how to delete it. If anything here is unclear, email jafdev@outlook.com.

The short version

What we store

Your account. Your name, and either your email address and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, or the identifier Sign in with Apple gives us. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only see Apple's relay address.

Your family. The family name, its invite code, and the names of its members.

Your list. Items, quantities, units, stores, aisles, repeat settings, who added each item, and when items were ticked off. Purchase times are what let Insights estimate when something is due again.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token and which notifications you want, so we can tell you when someone adds things or goes shopping.

Subscription. If you or someone in your family subscribes to myFamCart Plus, we store which family has Plus, when it renews or ends, and Apple's transaction ID for the purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see card details.

Sign-in sessions. Tokens that keep you signed in. On your phone they are kept in the iOS Keychain, which only this app can read.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing activity. The camera is only used when you choose to scan a label. Labels are read on your phone and the image never leaves it.

Who can see your data

We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. We would only disclose it if the law required us to.

How it's protected

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Every request is checked on the server, so an account can only read or change its own family's list. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Wrong invite codes and wrong passwords are rate limited to stop guessing.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account (Family tab, Delete account), we delete your account, your sign-in sessions, your devices' notification tokens and your membership straight away. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to remove myFamCart's access to your Apple ID. Items you added stay on the family's list for the other members. If you were the last member of the family, the family's list, stores and history are deleted as well. Copies can remain for a short time in our hosting provider's backups before they are overwritten.

A copy of your family's list is also cached on your phone so the app opens quickly. It is removed when you sign out or delete the app.

Your rights

You can see and correct your data in the app, and delete it at any time. You can also email jafdev@outlook.com to ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. We'll answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, laws such as Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law or the EU's GDPR may give you further rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

myFamCart isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
